Duties:

Homalco Wildlife & Cultural Tours seek Skilled Wildlife Viewing Guides to safely lead guests on grizzly bear viewing tours at Orford Bay in Bute Inlet, BC. Please apply if you bring excellent communication and guest service skills, significant knowledge of Coastal First Nation culture and traditions, and a passion for nature and wildlife. Extra points if you are also well-versed in bear biology and behavior.

Your role will be to enthusiastically deliver a world-class wildlife viewing experience as an ambassador of Homalco First Nation on its traditional lands. While striving to raise the standard of First Nation tourism, you will also work as part of a team to perform the duties necessary to maintain smooth operations and a positive work environment

Requirements:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Guest safety and experience
•Positive interactions with the guests
•Minimizing impacts on bears & wildlife
•Safely transport guests in shuttle buses
•Support retail sales in the onsite store
•On-going maintenance and upkeep of the camp, buses and visitor center
•General housekeeping & cleaning tasks
•Support other staff in performing their duties as required
•Reporting and record keeping
•Uphold agreed upon Codes of Conduct and Operations Procedures
Required skills and certifications (training provided):
•CBVA Guide Certification
•Valid Driver’s License preferred
•Current First Aid Level 1 Certificate. OFA 3 or wilderness first aid an asset
