The Position: Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, College of Trades and Technology, the individual will be responsible for instruction in the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) area. In addition to teaching duties, the instructor will be responsible for classroom management; student supervision and advising; maintenance of student records and grades; maintenance of program equipment and material; curriculum review/development and other program-related tasks.
Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate as Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
Significant experience in the trade after attainment of certification
Excellent communication skills
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office tools
Demonstrated attention to maintenance of safe workplaces
Prior instructional experience
Demonstrated ability to understand cultural influences and issues specific to adult learners in northern communities
Personal experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures
The ability to speak an Aboriginal language
Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
Experience instructing adult learners in northern or remote communities


Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Instructors are required to complete a certificate in Adult Education (CAE) within 5 years
