Homalco Wildlife & Cultural Tours seek Experienced Marine & Wildlife Viewing Guides to safely lead guests on marine wildlife and cultural adventures from Campbell River through the Salish Sea to Orford Bay in Bute Inlet, BC.

You must have outstanding communication and guest service skills, knowledge of local marine and land-based wildlife plus Homalco First Nation culture and traditions, and a passion for sharing your knowledge. Whales, bears and natural history are part of your language as you enthusiastically deliver a world-class interpretive guided experience as an ambassador of Homalco First Nation and Northern Coast Salish Peoples.

Your primary objective is to provide guests with an authentic 8-hour wildlife & cultural interpretive experience by boat and land which includes walking up to 5 km


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Guest safety and experience
•Accurate interpretation of region, culture, history and wildlife
•Minimizing impacts on bears & wildlife
•Uphold bear viewing guidelines set out by the CBVA
•Safely drive a 20-passenger shuttle bus on forestry roads
•Support other staff in performing their duties as required
•Reporting and record keeping
•Uphold agreed upon Codes of Conduct and Operations Procedures
Required skills and certifications (Some training provided):
•Ability to work well under pressure in remote areas
•Current First Aid Level 1 Certificate. OFA 3 or wilderness first aid an asset
•CBVA Guide certification
•Valid Drivers License, Class 4 an asset
•Experience on boats with tiller outboards an asset
